Dr. Chorney was born in Butte and raised in Townsend, Montana. She earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Montana Tech, followed by her medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Following her education, she moved to Madison, Wisconsin to complete a pediatric residency at the University of Wisconsin’s American Family Children’s Hospital. Dr. Chorney realized at a young age that she wanted to be a doctor; as she progressed through school, her love of chemistry and biology in conjunction with a desire to work with people confirmed her decision to pursue a career in medicine.“I’m passionate about pediatric medicine because it gives me the opportunity to really set children up for success in life—so that they can be healthy adults and achieve their full potential. My goal is to provide excellent, evidence-based, patient-centered care. I enjoy getting to know children and their parents so I can understand their unique situation and tailor my medical care to best fit their lifestyle. I also believe in making medical care and living a healthy lifestyle fun for kids.”As a pediatrician, Dr. Chorney enjoys the full breadth of general pediatrics, everything from getting to know newborns and their parents for the first time, to caring for teenagers. In addition to valuing preventive medicine, Dr. Chorney also finds it rewarding to take care of children with acute and chronic illnesses. She is passionate about well child care and preventive medicine, as well as care of children with medical complexity.When she is not at work, Dr. Chorney enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and baking.
